Lokken Millis

Lokken attended Maryville College in Tennessee from 1979-1980 as an art major. She earned an A.A in commercial art from the Art Institute of Dallas in 1982. She also took additional courses in illustration at East Texas State University. She studied painting with Quang Ho at the Art Student's League off and on from 1989-1994. This included being invited to take his Professional Studies class. She has worked primarily as a painter/illustrator for the past 20 years. She has taught many children's art workshops for various organizations, including a memorable project teaching painting to children in rural Haiti.

She is a regular illustrator for Life On Capitol Hill and Neighborhood Life. Other clients include The Boulder Weekly, The Progressive Populist, The Colorado History Museum and Tabor Publishing. She has also illustrated three children's books. She was a member of CORE New Art Space Co-operative Gallery for 2 years, and she and Jon Koenigsberg host a weekly life drawing group there.
